Our summer sailing school is open to kids aged 7 – 16 years. It offers young sailors an opportunity to have fun playing games on the water while learning how to sail in a safe and fun environment, building confidence and independence by teaching them to sail independently right from the start. We teach the basics of sailing where kids can learn out of the classroom through action and supported experimentation in a controlled, coach supervised setting. This involves;
- Building skills one layer at a time, starting with steering behind the safety boat in the first session
- Later adding the sail and eventually letting the kids control the boat alone.
- Learning skills like tacking and gybing onshore to build muscle memory before we practice them on the water.
- Learning how to sail on different sailing angles through experimentation.
We accept kids for 2 levels:
Level 1 – complete beginners
Level 2 – Have some sailing experience but need to build confidence
This course is only open to Vikings Sailing Club members. You may apply for membership here. One you receive an email that your membership application has been completed, you may proceed to book.
Starts on the 2/4th July 2024 and ends on the 10/12th September (Excluding Santa Marija week)
Duration: 10 weeks
Day: Tuesday/Thursday 8.30-1.00pm )
Price per day: 175 Euro with own boat/ 275 Euro using a club boat
Extra hour 1-2pm: 40 Euro for all the summer per day chosen (This will be offered if there are a minimum or 4 sailors. Please register your interest by filling in this form HERE
Note: A siblings discount of 5% will apply if the sailor has a brother or sister attending on one of our summer courses (excluding Sportmalta)
A discount of 5% will automatically apply at checkout if the sailor attends both Tuesday and Thursday (Must be booked in the same order)
Note: Days chosen are fixed. Unfortunately we are unable to swap days in case of missed sessions.
