The club will be organising a shore cleanup of Marsamxett harbour on the 21st of April. This event is part of an Erasmus+ project called Clean Run Race. The event is in collaboration with Sportmalta and will take place on the 21st April from 9am to 3pm. The event is supported by Saving our Blue and the Floriana Local Council.   Officers from the AFM Maritime Squadron and their EOD divers will also be joining the event where the latter will be carrying out a seabed cleanup. The Vikings Easter Pursuit Race is back for its annual edition! Set for Sunday, 24th March 2024, the race is open to all registered club members. Whether you are a seasoned sailor or someone who enjoys the camaraderie of the club, this event is the perfect stage for you to show off your sailing skills. For more details Click Here
The club has a number of vacancies. We have a full time coach position (Click HERE for more details) and are also accepting freelance part time coaches to join our team. Freelance coaches will also be offered work in summer. Previous coaching experience, first aid qualification and powerboat/nautical licence will be an asset. As part of our Erasmus+ project Sailing 4 All, the club will be organising an open day to showcase our sailability programme on the 8th December between 9am and 12pm. We are taking bookings from individuals with limited mobility/mobility problems for trial sails on our specially adapted Hansa 303 sailing dinghy. Sailors will be accompanied by an experienced coach for a short sail around Marsamxett harbour. On the 21st September, a public holiday we will be meeting at 8-8.15am. Members will rig their boats and launch from Vikings Sailing Club at 9 AM on an extended sailing journey. The destination? It’s in the hands of the wind and weather forecasts, ensuring a safe and enjoyable trip. This week we will be holding weekly club Wednesday activity for members.   Members can sail their own boat or book a club boat. Sailing will take place between 4.30 and 7.30pm. A safety boat manned by volunteers will be on the water.   Don’t want to sail, no problem. Head to the roof and enjoy socializing with other members on our new outdoor furniture or enjoy a game of table tennis. The fridge will be stocked up and drinks will be available.
