This summer program is only open to sailors from the age of 8 to 16 years who have reached an advanced or intermediate level of sailing. Sailors will be assigned a boat according to their weight and will be split up into groups according to their level.
Here sailors will further develop their sailing technique, improve their knowledge of sailing theory and learn to follow different courses around the marks. They will often sail outside Marsamxett harbour under the guidance of our experienced coaches. This year we are also launching our racing academy which will be held on Wednesdays for those sailors who wish to follow a fun but more intensive program with the aim of joining a performance group after summer or participating in club races or ranking events. The program starts on the 2/4th July and runs for 10 weeks finishing on the 10/12th September and excluding Santa Marija week in August. Sailors can use their own boat or one of the club boat. Each child will be assigned a boat by the lead coach according to his/her weight. Our fleet of boats includes optimists, RS fevas, toppers and a laser Pico. They will be shown how to care for their boat as if it were their own.
This course is only open to Vikings Sailing Club members. You may apply for membership here. Once you receive an email that your membership application has been completed you may proceed to book.

(Sailors interested in some practice racing should attend on Wednesdays). Additional afternoon sessions will be held for the performance groups.

€325 using club boat, €195 using own boat

In case of sailors who sail with us only in summer it is best to email us on sailing@vikings.mt before to discuss the best day for the sailor to attend according to his/her level. Beginners (level 1 and 2) will NOT be accepted for this program. Beginners can register for our summer sailing school for beginners which will also run on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
