Adults Intermediate Sailing Course

The adult intermediate course acts as a fun, relaxed way for adults to improve their sailing. An opportunity to spend time on the water and to practice and gain confidence in the boat. Joining requirements are completion of level 1 and level 2 courses.  This course is open only to Vikings members and is 6 session long. 

We work on;

  • Boat Control
  • Acceleration and deceleration
  • Complex boat handling e.g. hovering in one place
  • Basic racing rules and practice
  • Sail Theory, setting up the sail for the conditions and adjusting it for the sailing angle
  • Meteorology and preparing for the weather, spotting and adapting to local conditions

Description

These sessions follow on from the Level 2 course. Sailors will sail mostly on their own to build on their sailing skills and start venturing outside Marsamxett harbour when the weather permits. More sailing theory will also be tacked.

The course is 6 weeks long
