The Optimist Sailing Program at Viking Sailing Club
Our Aim The goal of our element-based grouping system is to provide a clear, structured progression path that feels like an epic maritime adventure rather than a rigid grading system. We aim to foster a lifelong love for sailing by building confidence, resilience, and teamwork. By disguising skill levels as progressive stages of mastering the natural elements. This ensures that every young sailor feels proud of their current fleet while staying highly motivated to unlock the skills required to conquer the next stage of their sailing journey. Groups will be including minimum of 4 and maximum of 10 sailors. Which will allow coaches and sailors to spend more intensive time during the training. There will be 4 groups in order: Arctic, Antartic, Atlantic, Pacific.
This program is specifically tailored for adventurous kids between the ages of 7 and 15 sailing in the Optimist class.
